I discovered glass and creating fused glass art about 7 years ago when I signed up for a class at a local glass studio.  Falling instantly in love with the look and the process of working with glass, I became hooked. I was fortunate, a local artist took interest in me and became by mentor, and taught me to create kiln formed glass in her glass studio. I went on to complete several other glass courses, and in 2019 I set up my own home studio and bought my first kiln.

Being the daughter of a German immigrant, my mother’s European influence, and her artistic and creative nature shaped my passions and future in so many ways. I was born in Northern California and lived there until I was 24. Like many, I decided to move to Oregon and start a career and raise a family of my own. Living in Central Oregon for 30 years now, the scenic beauty has given me inspiration and love for all things in nature. The beautiful snow-capped mountains, the lakes and rivers, and the majestic beauty of Oregon.

I have a whimsical and western flair, and am fascinated by glass – its color, reflections and  translucent quality. One of my favorite methods of designing art involves incorporating rustic and repurposed metal items with fused glass. The finished pieces can be enjoyed inside the house or in a garden. You can often recognize my glass works by the beautiful flowers that are incorporated into many of my designs.

My favorite pieces are the ones that I envisioned, designed, and then created. An example would be my rustic horseshoes installed with beautiful glass. They are all one of a kind! A popular horseshoe garden stake is one with a dog or cat paw on it, used as a loved pet memorial.

I also create large pieces, such as metal wagon wheels with glass panels. They are all one of a kind and could be the centerpiece to your favorite view from your home or office. The wheels are spectacular when displayed in a garden, hung by an entry way, outside on a deck, by the driveway or placed in a backyard. They have been designed to show beautiful glass colors when placed where the sunlight shines through the wheel.
